apologies

To whom this may concern

I am writing to sincerely apologise about a disturbance that took place down your street last monday.  Me and a few mates done some burnouts down your streets and also rubbish has been left down there regularly.  I am personally going to make sure this Kind of stuff does not happen in the future.  And that the street is cleaned on a regular basis.  Once again I am sorry for my actions and it will not happen again.

This letter, handwritten and placed in an unaddressed envelope with a local employer’s logo on it, was in our letterbox last night.  Did the young man’s employer catch him?  And under what circumstances was he sufficiently chastised to undertake this letter-writing by way of punishment and reparation?

We were home last Monday and we didn’t hear a thing.
