Mix and Mash Entry 2011
This is about earthquakes.
This is about earthquakes.
You’ve filled it up.
Cut it off and start over.
All clear. All clear. All clear.
You go away and come back a different person.
You go away and come back
to different people
gone for sure
soft and soft and soft.
The estuary is wide: we have to go through a dirty river.
Our feet sink into the soft sand and the water runs over our knees.
Our feet sink into the soft sand and the water runs over our knees.
You fill it up and it fills up and you’ve filled it up. Don’t lean away.
As the night goes on
even the silence isn’t silent:
the white noise of the city and suburbs
a deep pool against the contours of the rocks.
Houses fall down. Churches fall down. A crane tries to rescue people.
Don’t lean away. Keep up with the flow of ideas.
This is about earthquakes.
(don’t lean away, my daughter)
This is about earthquakes.
