If I was a secondary school pupil in 193x and could choose any five subjects of the above, I would study:

- Electricity and magnetism
- Housecraft
- Maori
- Music
- Heat and light

The original blogpost wryly notes that the “technology based subjects [were] suited to young males intending to sign articles for a five year industrial apprenticeship, with a further 20% tailored to the requirements of their eventual spouses to be.”

By this reasoning, you would encompass the best of both genders!
